🌟 Doreen and Gladys Miller
Elders Doreen and Gladys Miller supplied essential knowledge for documenting Wirangu language. Linguist Luise Hercus began the grammar project after visiting Ceduna in 1993, where members of the women's group asked for work to preserve it. The sisters helped recover vocabulary and explain language material, contributing far more than names on an acknowledgement page. Their lives and knowledge were also recorded in the documentary Wirrangul Women: Always Have, Always Will. Their association spans the wider west-coast community, including their farming life at Scotdesco and the language work supported through Ceduna.
